Josh Thompson tops Billboard‘s Country Songwriters chart for the first time, thanks to four writing credits on the latest Hot Country Songs survey (dated June 27).

Luke Bryan’s “One Margarita,” which Thompson wrote with Michael Carter and Matt Dragstrem, leads at No. 6, with 28.3 million radio audience impressions, 6.1 million U.S. streams and 11,000 downloads sold in the latest tracking week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Here’s a look at all four of Thompson’s writing credits on the latest Hot Country Songs chart.

Thompson has written or co-written 17 Hot Country Songs entries, four of which have reached the top 10. He’s earned three No. 1s as a writer on the Country Airplay chart: Jason Aldean’s “Any Ol’ Barstool” and Blake Shelton’s “I’ll Name the Dogs” in 2017 and Aldean’s “Drowns the Whiskey,” featuring Miranda Lambert, in 2018.

Meanwhile, as an artist, Thompson has logged six Hot Country Songs entries, including “Beer on the Table” and “Way Out Here,” which reached Nos. 17 and 15, respectively, in 2010. He’s tallied two top 10s on the Top Country Albums chart: Way Out Here (No. 9, 2010) and Turn It Up (No. 7, 2014).
